These sweet and savory bacon wrapped cheese filled jalapeños are sure to please at your next gathering. My husband and I are obsessed with these, and every time we make them, we find ourselves hovering over the snack table! They are so quick and easy to make, and are packed with so much flavor!
This recipe makes about 30 pieces to be perfect for a party or gathering, but can easily be cut in half!
Recipe:
15 Jalepeños (cut in half and deseeded)
30 slices bacon (about 2 packs)
1/2 cup brown sugar (to sprinkle on top)
16 oz cream cheese (2 bricks)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar or blend
1/2 Tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 Tablespoon onion powder
Slap Ya Mama seasoning to taste (optional for extra spice)
Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 F.
- Wash & dry jalepeños. Cut off stems, then cut each pepper in half long ways. Using a spoon to scrape and remove all the seeds and membranes from center, repeat for all the peppers and set aside.
- Add cream cheese (softened), shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, slap ya mama’s seasoning, salt & pepper to a mixing bowl and stir to combine.
- Using a knife or spoon stuff each pepper with filling (about a Tbsp worth per pepper).
- Line a cookie sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray.
- Grab your bacon and wrap each pepper tightly with bacon starting at the fattest part of the pepper wrapped all the way to the smallest end.
- Place your bacon wrapped peppers on prepared cookie sheet in a single layer with no overlapping, & sprinkle the tops with brown sugar.
- Place in oven for 20-25 minutes or until bacon is fully cooked and to desired doneness.
- Serve immediately with your favorite crackers (I prefer to eat these with ritz-its the perfect combo of sweet and savory), veggies, bread, or they are great by themselves as well. Enjoy!
