A few years back Jahaziel and I started to really experience a lifestyle shift, we started tuning into our health journey which helps your life in so many ways. We are both big snackers so having ready to eat snacks or grab and go snacks are really important for us. Having those snacks also be a good and healthy choice is also important. These bites are not only so easy to make and only 6 ingredients, they are also incredibly delicious and taste like you’re eating cookie dough! You would never know these are a healthier treat. We usually make these in double or triple batches because they are so easy to freeze and last a couple months in the freezer; just throw them in a container or big zip lock. And they taste so yummy frozen. You can also sub out the peanut butter for any nut butter, and the dark chocolate chips for cacao nibs. Enjoy!
Recipe:
1 1/3 cup old fashioned oats (rolled oats)
1 1/2 cup peanut butter (or your favorite nut butter)
1/2 cup vanilla protein powder
1 cup dark chocolate chips (or cacao nibs also taste great!)
1/2 cup honey
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
- Combine the oats, peanut butter, protein powder, choc chips, honey, and salt together in a bowl, and stir to combine (Make sure it is mixed well).
- Roll each protein ball to be around 1 inch each and place in a single layer on a cookie sheet or dish.
- Once you’ve rolled them all out (should make about 20-24 balls) place them in the fridge for around an hour to harden.
- Remove from fridge and either eat them right away or place them in a zip lock or freezer safe container, and place in freezer for a quick grab and go snack. Enjoy!
Notes:
These last in the freezer for up to 3 months.
They are about 6-7 grams of protein in each ball.
You can modify this recipe to add your favorite ingredients as well!
