About

If I had a dollar for every time someone I have prepared a meal for told me, “I should open a restaurant, ” or “I should start a food blog, ” etc. I would be rich enough to *insert a punchline here lol*. So here I am, as someone who is not great with social media and technology, I will be pursuing it to the best of my ability. My absolute favorite thing about food, more than all of the delicious flavor and variety, is that it brings people together. I will make any excuse I can to get our friends and/or family together for a meal, and in our friend circle I am almost always the one who cooks for everyone (by choice of course (; )

I grew up in Vancouver, WA right next to Portland, OR. I didn’t grow up eating out much, but as many people can also say; my mom is one of my favorite chefs. She is not only a phenomenal cook, but also taught me much of what I know today. Growing up with family that’s from Laos, Asian food was mostly all we had in the house and it was a huge part of my upbringing. I have since brought so many of those meals into my husband and I’s daily lives as well as fooled around with some new ones using all of the flavors I love so much.

My dad remarried when I was in grade school a beautiful woman who is Mexican. She was my first introduction to real, authentic Mexican cuisine, as well as all of the amazing culture that comes with it. So I began learning what I could from her every time we would cook a meal together. Well as luck would have it, several years down the road I married the love of my life who also happens to be Mexican. I am so thankful for the blending of cultures that happened between our families, as we have both learned so much from each other and about each other, and of course; the food is always INCREDIBLE!! My mother-in-law is by far one of the greatest chefs as well. I am honored that she has passed down several family recipes to me that have also become regular favorites.

So here I am as a long-time bartender/server in the restaurant industry, pursuing my passion in the best way I know how- and if no one ever sees any of this it’s okay because every time I upload a recipe and/or video then that means I had another shared meal and memory with my loved ones and that is why I do it. Cooking and feeding people and everyone coming together gives me so much joy and fulfillment.

So come cook with me, and of course, let’s make a drink together as well (;

P.S. I also just want to give a huge shout out to my amazing and talented husband. I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without him, he has been such a huge help and partner the entire way, and I couldn’t ask for more 🥹🫶🏼
